Abstract

The article analyses the current problems of the storage and sale of wood seized during the investigation of criminal cases on illegal logging (on the basis of crimes by Article 260 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). It is noted that such wood may be used as a source for the recovery of material damage caused to the State or for the economic activities of citizens or the State. The autors made the proposals to improve the legal framework and the effectiveness of law enforcement agencies.
