Since the beginning of the XXI century, there has been a serious aggravation of many world problems, among which the problem of environmental protection occupies a special place. In recent years, the European Union has been addressing numerous urgent issues around the world, including in the environmental sphere. This article discusses the reform of the European Union legislation in the field of environmental protection. The purpose of this article is to highlight the main stages of environmental policy reform in the EU and their characteristics. The European Union is the largest region that influences the entire world's environmental policy. Every year there are environmental events that affect the rest of the world. In addition, the EU has created a special legal framework that regulates and coordinates all environmental activities of EU member States.References
