FAMILY AS A FACTOR OF JUVENILE CRIME AND AN OBJECT OF CRIMINOLOGICAL RESEARCH

Abstract

The factors that influence on the level of juvenile crime are both social and economic. The economic reasons of juvenile delinquency are the low standard of living and the level of real income of the population, unemployment, reducing wage levels and rising prices for goods and services. The social factors are homelessness among minors, the irregular leisure activities of adolescents, and alcoholism and drug addiction among young people. These factors influence on the behaviour of juveniles indirectly, through environmental influences, primarily through family and family problems. This makes the study of the family as the main factor in juvenile delinquency a topical and practical problem. The author concludes that the family education and the delinquent behaviour of the minor are related and that it is necessary to create all possible to form a well-to-do family within the State family policy of the Russian Federation.
